Norway has demanded an end to the demolition of Palestinian homes

The Norwegian Foreign Ministry spokesman said her country was constantly following the worrying events in Jerusalem.

Solberg stated that her country called on the Zionist government to stop the destruction and confiscation of Palestinian homes.

She noted that Oslo considers Zionist settlements in the occupied territories, including East Jerusalem, to be illegitimate under international law.

Solberg added that the Norwegian government supports the plans and strategies of civil society organizations that seek to protect the rights of Palestinian residents and help them prevent the demolition of their homes.

Hewittfield, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council, called for a halt to Israeli settlements and the demolition of Palestinian homes in January.

He called the Zionist settlements illegal under international law and an obstacle to peace and the establishment of the two-state.
